If you or someone you’re with needs help outdoors (lost, injured, overdue): call 9-1-1 immediately.
What to do
- Call 9-1-1 immediately. State you need Police, Fire, or Ambulance for Search and Rescue. ecomm911.ca
- Stay put if safe; conserve phone battery; share GPS coordinates if you can.
- Follow dispatcher instructions. Police will assess and, if appropriate, task our SAR team through the provincial system. www2.gov.bc.ca
Who pays for my rescue?
There is no fee charged to subjects for GSAR response activated through 9-1-1. SAR is FREE!
